Honoring America through Legacy, Service & Love
From Ashland to Paducah, Florence to Corbin, the Kentucky Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (KSDAR) unites nearly 5,000 women across 83 chapters in dedicated service to our communities, state, and nation. Established in 1896—just six years after the founding of the National Society (NSDAR)—KSDAR builds on a rich legacy. Every member traces her family lineage directly back to a Patriot of the American Revolution.
With more than 190,000 members providing millions of hours of volunteer service each year, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a premier non-profit, non-political volunteer service organization. Guided by a enduring dedication to our nation's heritage, DAR is driven by three core objectives:

-
Educational Advancement Supporting schools and students from elementary classrooms to university campuses is a cornerstone of the DAR mission. The organization actively fosters a love for American history and civic responsibility by hosting youth essay contests, providing community enrichment programs, and funding robust awards and scholarships to empower the leaders of tomorrow.

KSDAR warmly welcomes women of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life to join us in meaningful service! Built on a foundation of shared ancestry and diverse interests, our society offers a place for everyone. Whether your passion lies in deep genealogical research, local historical preservation, patriotic outreach, or community service, you will find a fulfilling purpose here—alongside sisterly bonds and friendships that truly last a lifetime.
-
Historical Preservation Daughters work tirelessly to protect and celebrate our shared cultural heritage. Members dedicate themselves to preserving invaluable documents, artifacts, and historic structures. By placing plaques, monuments, and markers at sites of historical significance, DAR ensures that the stories of our nation’s founding eras remain visible and honored for generations to come.
-
Patriotism & Veteran Support Rooted in deep ancestral connections to the Patriots who fought to create and defend our country, Daughters champion active-duty military and veterans alike. Members actively volunteer within Veterans Administration (VA) medical centers, compile care packages for deployed service members, and proudly welcome home veterans at Honor Flights. Furthermore, chapters bolster local patriotism by sponsoring community events, including the annual Wreaths Across America ceremonies.
